About Youth Collaborative
Youth Collaborative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering our community through various programs and initiatives. Our mission is to make a positive impact and create a better future for all.
More Than a Program
At Youth Collaborative, our work doesn’t happen behind a desk, it happens in real time, in real life. From early morning school drop-offs to late-night crisis calls, our team walks alongside youth through every challenge, every milestone, and every moment in between. The young people we serve are often navigating complex barriers, and one service alone is never enough.
So we don’t offer just one thing, we provide consistent, daily support across every part of their lives.
Education Support
We help young people stay connected to their education and build a path forward.
- School enrollment and re-enrollment
- Daily school transportation
- Tutoring and academic support
- High school diploma (GED) preparation
- Graduation support and celebration
- Behavioral Support
Job Skills & Employment
We prepare youth for independence and long-term success.
- Job readiness and workforce training
- Job placement and application support
- Transportation to and from work
- Assistance obtaining IDs and required documents
- Driver’s education enrollment
- Trade school, community college, and career pathway support
Crisis Response & Street Outreach
We show up when it matters most, especially in high-risk moments.
- De-escalation of conflicts and potential violence
- Locating youth when communication is lost
- Street outreach and safety checks
- Court advocacy and accompaniment
- Visits to youth in detention or residential facilities
Family & Basic Needs Support
We support the entire environment around the young person.
- Home visits and family engagement
- Food and basic needs assistance
- Transportation to appointments
- Connection to mental health services
- Coordination through multidisciplinary team meetings
Mentorship & Daily Connection
At the core of our work is consistent, trusted relationships.
- Daily check-ins (calls, texts, and in-person)

Why It Matters
Many of the youth we serve are navigating multiple systems—education, justice, family, and community all at once. Without consistent support, it’s easy to fall through the cracks.
That’s why our work doesn’t happen in just one place. It happens:
- In cars
- In homes
- In schools
- In courtrooms
- And out in the community
Wherever our youth are, that’s where we go.
Community Partnership Spotlight
We are grateful for our continued partnership with The Winston-Salem Foundation and their commitment to strengthening our community. Through their support and guidance, our organization was able to secure a $40,000 grant that will directly enhance our job skills and workforce readiness programs.
This funding will also help provide transportation support, ensuring youth can reliably get to work, school, and tutoring opportunities, removing barriers that often stand in the way of success. By addressing both skill development and access, this grant allows us to better support young people as they work toward stability, independence, and long-term success here in Winston-Salem.
